When you purchase a home at Garrison Crossing, you don’t just become part of an award-winning development – you’re joining the active community of Chilliwack, BC.
You know that an active community needs a great community centre, one that offers top-notch recreational services and other amenities to people of all ages. And that’s the role of the Cheam Centre, south Chilliwack’s community recreation destination.
A swimming pool, a weight training room, fitness equipment, a double gymnasium and community meeting spaces – these are just some of the recreational options you will find at the Cheam Centre. The centre’s aquatic facility is a hit with young children who want to learn how to swim, as well as adults who want to keep fit.
The Centre is undergoing an intensive, $9-million renovation in order to serve community needs even better. The Centre is OPEN and continues to operate as the renovation proceeds. Completion of this first phase is scheduled for late spring/early summer 2010.
As part of the project negotiations for Garrison Crossing, ownership of the community centre site has been transferred from Canada Lands Company to the City of Chilliwack.
Future enhancements include an outdoor spray park, which will be an open feature available for children and families to enjoy free of charge– this initiative by Canada Lands Company is scheduled for completion in 2011. In addition, the City of Chilliwack is planning further upgrades to the Cheam Community Centre fitness facility scheduled as a second phase of renovations for 2015.
