Creating a pedestrian-friendly residential community and encouraging travel without a car was integral to the planning of Garrison Crossing, Chilliwack. The central boulevard links to a network of bikeways, pathways and nature trails that allow you to walk to the local elementary school, community centre and convenience store. Learn more about how to reduce your fuel use.
And to ensure this award-winning development is truly pedestrian-friendly, Garrison Crossing incorporates state-of-the-art lights to help make for a safer neighbourhood at night. The new metal halide light fixtures on streets and pathways will provide a brighter, more natural light with less glare.
Green space is a large part of Garrison Crossing, such that a comprehensive tree management plan is in place to ensure the lasting beauty of the trees in the conifer woodlot. Every opportunity will be taken to replant the natural trees and enhance the wildlife habitat in the central woodlot and along park edges.
In addition to these protected green spaces, open areas of the community have been professionally landscaped, and rows of conifers provide a lush backdrop to the homes year-round.
Finally, we have also taken special, state-of-the-art steps regarding water quality at Garrison Crossing. Storm septors are being installed to ensure that the aquifer beneath Garrison Crossing, which supplies water to Chilliwack, remains clean and fully protected. These storm septors act as a water interceptor system, and trap potential contaminants for elimination, before they can enter the main water supply. The result: peace of mind for you and your family.
